Cultivating Gratitude: A Thanksgiving Retreat
About the Retreat
As the year shifts and we move toward Thanksgiving and the holiday season, it’s the perfect time to create space for gratitude. This retreat offers you a dedicated day to slow down, reflect, and nurture a grateful heart. Research shows that gratitude can support our well-being, making us more resilient, joyful, and connected to what matters most. Together, we'll explore how gratitude can become a steady, comforting presence in your daily life, no matter what challenges come your way.
Research has shown that people who regularly practice gratitude report higher levels of positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, and even have stronger immune systems. (Source: Robert Emmons, University of California, Davis)
What to Expect
This retreat weaves together mindfulness meditation practices with gentle teacher talks, guided meditations, and walking meditation. Teachings will explore gratitude and how to cultivate it more in daily life. You’ll also have ample personal time for reflection and journaling, with opportunities to share questions and insights in group discussions. We’ll have times of quiet to deepen your inner connection and space for conversation to build a sense of community. By increasing our awareness and compassion through mindfulness, we can more easily invite gratitude into our hearts and lives.

The Setting
We’ll gather in a professional office building with access to both indoor and outdoor spaces (weather permitting). Inside, we’ll use a comfortable conference room with chairs for seated meditation and talks. Outside, a peaceful wooded area with a large patio awaits, offering a chance to connect with nature during our practices and reflection times. Please note that meditation cushions won’t be available for this retreat, but the serene environment will support you wherever you sit.

- If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll adjust our outdoor time to make sure you stay comfortable.
- *Please adhere to the dedicated periods of silence.
*About Silence: The purpose of adhering to silence is to create an environment of stillness and introspection, allowing individuals to fully engage with their inner experience without the distractions of everyday communication. In the absence of verbal interaction, participants are encouraged to cultivate a deep awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations. This silence supports a more profound connection with the present moment and enhances the meditative process. Participants are encouraged to speak at designated times.
